Offenbach is Germany's ‘weather city’ – and in the 20,000 square metre weather park, this topic becomes tangible for everyone. As a joint project between the city, the German Weather Service (DWD) and the Rhine-Main Regional Park, the area combines local recreation with exciting knowledge transfer.
An extensive educational and adventure trail explains complex weather phenomena such as storms, hail and the principles of climate research in a way that is easy to understand. Interactive stations invite visitors to not only understand the interaction between sun, air and water, but also to experience it with their senses. A special highlight is the weather radar, which was added in 2021.
The award-winning visitor centre (Iconic Award 2015) serves as a modern portal to the regional park. With its child-friendly exhibition, experiments and information on the regional climate, it is the perfect starting point for families, school classes and individual guests. Whether on your own or on a guided tour, here you can discover the ‘weather of tomorrow’ today.
