Gebäude C 770

Within a few weeks, the architect and designer Peter Behrens designed the angular building, which took shape between 1920 and 1924. Its external forms are taken from the architectural language of castle building. Tower and bridge, once a symbol of the former Hoechst AG, formed the gateway to the factory and the district.
Inside is the spectrally colored atrium with three crystal-like glass domes and the exhibition hall, which was restored in 2008. For a long time, the building served as the technical administration building of the former Hoechst AG.
Today it is the headquarters of the management of Infraserv Höchst and is located on the site of the Höchst Industrial Park and is therefore not publicly accessible. Special features of the building, which is also referred to as "enclosed light" or "expressionism turned into stone", are the interplay of color and form in the domed hall, the ornaments made of Bauhaus and brick as well as the lamps, door handles and glass windows by Peter Behrens.
The industrial park operator Infraserv Höchst offers guided tours through the Peter Behrens Bau.
