Information

In the art department the works of the Großauheim artists August Gaul and August Peukert are presented. The industry department exhibits a steam-powered locomobile with threshing machine, a steam tractor and a small tractor with an internal combustion engine from the Josef Bautz company, which manufactured tractors in Großauheim in the 1950s. Historical film sequences document the manual labor and the use of machinery. In the exhibition on local history, large photographs illustrate how people in Großauheim used to organize their leisure time. Steam engines were the "motors" of industrialization. In the former machine hall, energy generation is presented with historic steam engines and generators. Picture and text panels also explain the generation of energy from fossil and renewable raw materials. Legendary product developments such as the ORIGINAL HANAU elevated sun as well as racing tires and tennis rackets of the DUNLOP brand are presented.
