Information

The Biebrich Museum of Local and Industrial History presents the eventful development of Biebrich that is today part of the regional capital of Wiesbaden: The former fishing and farming village became for a hundred years the residence of the dukes of Nassau, after which it turned out to be an important industrial centre. The exhibition therefore covers a great variety of subjects: The Nassau dynasty, traditional crafts and trades as well as modern industrial companies. You can even find here a very early inhabitant of the Biebrich area: a 20-million-year-old mudflat snail, along with other fossils from the Mosbach sands.
Originally founded in 1909, the museum is now situated on 350 square metres in the former municipal bathhouse. In addition to the permanent collection, the museum regularly shows special exhibitions. The team also offers guided tours of the Biebrich castle and its park.
