The museum is located in the historic Degenfeld Castle in the district of Groß-Karben. It shows findings from Prehistory and early history as well as a well room with clay jugs, bottles and posters of the former four Karben mineral wells and historical boundary stones. The agricultural museum shows old toys, brooches and school books as well as community signs and coats of arms. The "Altenstube" shows a collection of heaters. Two show rooms exhibit a school class from the first half of the 19th century and a merchant's store from Groß Karben, respectively. The area "The environment of the countrywoman" deals with dairy farming and the chores of washing and ironing. In the exhibition hall you can find agricultural tools and machines, which are exhibited according to the production processes. The castle itself displays cutting tools, sickles, traps, forestry equipment with an apiary, an exhibition of rural crafts and a collection of wheels and baskets.
