The museum documents the history of the formerly independent town of Ober-Erlenbach with its collections and documentation on local history. In the local history museum, the collection of the certificates, which is unique in Germany, is the "Teaching and research institute for fermentation-free fruit utilization" (LUVA), founded by Josef Baumann. It finally opened after a year of preparation in 1928. After Josef Baumann's death in 1963, the remaining production plant was taken over by the Rühl family in 1975 and ultimately closed in 1988. The museum shows the inventions of the "pioneer of fermentation-free fruit recycling", such as the "sterilization bell" named after Josef Baumann and the "Ober-Erlenbach original rubber caps" as well as the history of the nationally recognized training and research institute for fermentation-free fruit processing in Ober-Erlenbach. Baumann's work as teacher and scientist is also illuminated.
