From 14 to 16 August 2026, the 18th African Culture Festival, under the motto ‘Frankfurt Meets Africa’, invites visitors from Frankfurt, the Rhine-Main region and across Germany to an extraordinary celebration of African cultures. With more than 7,000 visitors each year, the festival ranks among the most significant African cultural events in Germany. The African Culture Festival is organised by Afrika Kulturprojekte e.V. and thrives on the extraordinary commitment of numerous volunteers, as well as the support of its visitors. An African bazaar, a diverse range of food and drink, workshops, dance sessions and drumming activities bring culture to life through all the senses.

Family festival with a varied programme

The African Culture Festival is deliberately aimed at people of all generations.

Alongside the concerts, families can look forward to a varied children’s programme featuring a play van, acrobatics, drumming and dance workshops, as well as numerous hands-on activities.

Africa Forum: Dialogue on the Future of West Africa

With the Africa Forum, social dialogue will once again be a central component of the festival programme in 2026.

Under the title ‘AES: Review and Prospects – Between Sovereignty, Security and Regional Integration’, pan-African activists and representatives of African civil society will discuss current developments in Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger, as well as the future of regional cooperation in West Africa.
