Since its foundation in 1984, the frauen museum wiesbaden has made it its mission to take a special look at the history and culture of women and people from the LGBTQIA+ community. In changing exhibitions, research projects, event series, conferences and workshops, the frauen museum wiesbaden visualises the achievements of women in art, history, society, science and culture and tells their stories and perspectives.
As a place for open dialogue and knowledge transfer, the exhibitions are always accompanied by an extensive range of educational activities such as guided tours, workshops, artist talks and city tours. The museum was awarded the Cultural Prize of the State Capital of Wiesbaden for its work in 1997, was named Museum of the Month by the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art in 2020 and is now an internationally recognised institution in the heart of Wiesbaden.
