antagon theaterAKTion is an international theater ensemble that was founded in 1990 by Bernhard Bub in Frankfurt am Main (DE).
The theater ensemble's aim is to create a politicized artistic language that deals with the conflicts of our society. antagon's artistic research is based on various perspectives of the performing arts and the development of decolonial forms of expression. Influences include physical theater, butoh, stilt acrobatics, contemporary music, expressive dance, Afrodiasporic dance and experimental video art. Antagon sees its own work as a search for traces at the interfaces and meeting places of theater and dance and as a research laboratory for forms of expression that touch the audience and are accessible to many.
