Information

The Warme Damm is far more than just a park; it's a central meeting place and a cultural monument in the heart of Wiesbaden. Located directly adjacent to the Hessisches Staatstheater  and along the elegant Wilhelmstrasse, the approximately 4.6-hectare park stretches out in the style of an English landscape garden. Its centerpiece is a picturesque pond with a fountain, surrounded by magnificent, partly historic trees and expansive lawns.

The park's name has historical roots: In the 17th century, thermal water fed the ponds there, which were part of the city's fortifications. After the ponds were drained and the city expanded, Court Garden Director Carl Friedrich Thelemann redesigned the area into its present form in 1859/1860. Despite construction work in the late 20th century (lake terrace, playground), the original layout has been preserved.

Today, the Warme Damm is a vibrant place that attracts those seeking relaxation, young families, and festival-goers alike. The park's upkeep carefully balances historical authenticity with diverse uses in 2026. From quiet spots sheltered by the treetops to sunny sunbathing areas on the pond's edge – the Warme Damm invites visitors to linger.
