Since its founding in November 2008, the Fliegende Volksbühne Frankfurt Rhein-Main has been engaged in the Frankfurt and South Hessian versions of a folk theatre tradition that can only be found in two other regions in the German-speaking world: Vienna and Berlin. The emphasis here is on a critical approach to material and literary models that relates to today's conditions and on offensive comedy in the performance, which corresponds to the tradition of folk theatre and develops it further. The play and the actors are always in the foreground.
