Information

The museum is located in the former residence of the Hessian State Councilor Dr. Karl Weber, a stately half-timbered building dating to 1816, the interior of which was remodeled in 1908 in the Art Nouveau style and which Dr. Weber transferred to the ownership of a foundation together with his sister-in-law Anna Pröscher after the death of his two sons in the First World War. The most important concern was the creation of a museum of local history, which was established after the death of the founders in 1937.
