The kuenstlerhaus43 refers to both a family-owned independent theatre and the building in which it is located. The theatre was founded in Wiesbaden in 2005 by Susanne Müller and Wolfgang Vielsack. In its performances, it regularly and deliberately breaks the usual separation of stage and auditorium. The kuenstlerhaus43 is the initiator and organiser of the Burgfestspiele Wiesbaden. Since its foundation, kuenstlerhaus43 has practised an unusual form of theatre. What most productions have in common is that no stage in the classical sense is used.
