More than 250 employees work at the Stadttheater Gießen in around 50 different professions. In addition to its own productions, the Stadttheater has co-productions with other theatres, with the universities in Frankfurt, Gießen and the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach am Main as part of the Hessian Theatre Academy, as well as with event organisers and associations in the city of Gießen. Partnerships exist with the Staatstheater Darmstadt, Oper und Schauspiel Frankfurt, the Stadttheater Heidelberg, the Nationaltheater Mannheim, the Staatstheater Kassel, the Staatstheater Mainz, the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden and the Hessisches Landestheater Marburg. In addition, the theatre began cooperations with the independent scene, also and especially with the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies at Giessen University.
