The city museum is housed in the Kavaliershaus below Schlossplatz. The permanent exhibition introduces visitors to the dynasty of Nassau-Usingen, famous personalities from Usingen, and Usingen's rural life. The Museum of Prehistory and Early History in the basement of the town hall (Wilhelmjstraße 1.) showcases archaeological objects from the region of Usingen.
