Information
The private Stadthistorisches Museum Mainz is dedicated to the topics of social, economic and cultural history. The permanent exhibition gives a brief overview of the history of Mainz from the Stone Age to the end of the 20th century. Mainz' economic and working life in the 19th and 20th centuries, including the furniture and the metalworking industry as well as wine and sparkling wine cellars, is explained. The exhibition "Children's Worlds" presents a puppet stage from 1928, doll kitchens, shops and much more. The exhibition "Magenza" shows the important and eventful history of Jews in Mainz since the Middle Ages. In addition to the permanent exhibition, special exhibitions take place regularly.
