The city library includes the central library with music library, the central children's and youth library, 16 libraries in the districts, the mobile library and over 100 school libraries.
The Stadtbücherei Frankfurt am Main is there for the citizens - for everyone. With a dense network of public libraries, school libraries and mobile library stops, it is present throughout the city. It offers books, magazines, films, music, games, digital media for download and streaming services. Household appliances, tools and musical instruments can be borrowed from the “Library of Things”. The music library has a recording studio that can be used free of charge (with a library card). Library work focuses on reading promotion and robotics, media education, school library work and intercultural library work. If you want to borrow media, you need a library card. The annual fee is €20. Children and young people up to the age of 18 borrow free of charge. Registration is possible online.
