Information
The Sotzbach Fire Brigade Barn is the only fire department museum of its kind in the Main-Kinzig district. The museum is located in former agricultural buildings dating back to 1891 and is constantly being expanded to include additional exhibition areas. In addition to many exhibits from the field of firefighting, the museum shows, among other things, manual pressure pumps from the 19th century, including the fire department uniforms and equipment worn at that time. Visitors can also follow the development of motorized fire engines from the once revolutionary small fire engine on a single-axle carriage to today's portable fire engine.
