SCHIRN focuses on topics of art and cultural history, discourses, and trends from the perspective of the immediate present. Its program is diverse, international and progressive, opening new perspectives and breaking up traditional patterns of the reception of art. The exhibitions are dedicated to contemporary and modern art.
Due to the energy-efficient renovation of its main building on Römer, the SCHIRN will temporarily move to the former Dondorf printing plant in Bockenheim starting in summer 2025. Until 2027, the SCHIRN will present themes related to art and contemporary life here.
