Information

The Zehntscheune (tithe barn) is a building on the grounds of the former Lorsch Monastery, built after the monastery's dissolution around 1590. It was constructed from stones from earlier monastery buildings that were demolished during this time. Since 2014, the building has housed a collection of the monastery's finest architectural fragments from 800 years of history. These include, for example, the impressive pilaster sarcophagus from the 9th century.
