Parktheater Bensheim
As the only theatre in the Bergstrasse district with fixed seating, the Parktheater Bensheim has successfully established itself as an important cultural meeting place in the region and has a high standing in society. In addition to the municipal programme, a varied programme of spoken theatre, music theatre, dance theatre and theatre for children and young people attracts all theatre enthusiasts to the Parktheater Bensheim, which has a great atmosphere with its large auditorium and gallery. The premises of the Parktheater Bensheim were first used as a cinema in 1951, which existed until 1963. The building was then converted first into a music hall and later into a theatre, which was extensively renovated at the end of the 1990s after 30 years of operation. The Parktheater, which is also used for great cabaret and cabaret events, is characterised by modern stage technology, excellent acoustics and a very pleasant theatre experience. The Getrud Eysoldt Ring has been awarded here every year since 1986.
