Ortenberg Castle was built as a castle in the second half of the 12th century and is situated high above the idyllic old town. It is owned by the Count of Stolberg-Wernigerode. Through an agreement between the count's family and the town of Ortenberg, the town's collections of objects from Ortenberg's history are displayed in six rooms of the castle. On display are weapons, tools, old weights and measures, agricultural utensils and much more.
