Niddaer Heimatmuseum
Niddaer Heimatmuseum
63667 Nidda
Thursday and Sunday 3.00–5.30 pm,
other days by appointment
Here you will find exhibits on local and regional history, the history of the church and technology, ranging from prehistory and early history (archaeology) to local crafts (craftsmen’s workshop, printing works, pottery, furniture-making, photography) and on to farming tools and everyday objects, as well as a room dedicated to the theme of migration. Regular special exhibitions, talks and art exhibitions ensure that a visit to the local history museum is always worthwhile. In 1983, the supporting association NIDDAER HEIMATMUSEUM e.V. was founded in Nidda. Today, the museum comprises a permanent exhibition covering a total of approximately 600 square metres of exhibition space; in addition, a large room for special exhibitions and a lecture room in the adjacent building (the town hall, dating from 1811) offer a wide range of possibilities for programming and presentations.
