The Museumsuferfest is a unique platform where Frankfurt’s cultural institutions and creative professionals can showcase their work to a wide audience. With an expected annual attendance of approximately 1 million people, the Museumsuferfest is one of Europe's major cultural festivals, offering museum programmes, stage productions, projects and performances. Art, culture and the lightness of being merge for three days at the end of August to create a grand and spectacular festival. Frankfurt will once again celebrate its museums and the Main River for three days on the last weekend in August: the Museumsuferfest will take place from 28 to 30 August 2026. With around one million visitors, it is one of the largest cultural festivals in Europe. Along the banks of the Main, more than two dozen museums, a dozen theatres and several hundred stalls present a diverse programme – from exhibitions, guided tours and hands-on activities to live music of all genres and culinary specialities from around the world. Highlights include the dragon boat races, the organ and choir mile, the antiquarian book mile and the grand finale fireworks display. With the Museumsuferfest button, guests receive free admission to all participating museums on all days for seven euros. Art, culture and joie de vivre merge into a unique festival that transforms Frankfurt into a colourful, lively cultural centre.
