Museum im Wehrturm zu Ober-Rosbach
61191 Rosbach vor der Höhe
By appointment
The walls of the listed 15th century fortified tower have housed an exhibition on Rosbach's history since March 2013. Under the motto "History in the Tower", the local history association (HGV) presents "Rosbach-typical" topics for citizens and visitors of the town. In the open-air area a flax field and a mining cage represent important occupations of the Rosbach population in the past four centuries. Inside, two floors of exhibits ranging from a Stone Age axe to models of the historic town centers of Ober- and Nieder-Rosbach to a miner's lamp provide insights into Rosbach's history. Interactive stations encourage young and old visitors to explore the local history on their own. Themed tours and events complement the permanent exhibition, which is to be continuously developed in the future.
