Information
The history of the core town of Grünberg and its districts, with its centuries-old Gallusmarkt, as well as the development and significance of Grünberg's monasteries and hospitals, with a special focus on the Antonite monastery, are shown to visitors on the ground floor of the former Augustinian nunnery. The first floor is reserved for the work of the South American researcher Theodor Koch-Grünberg (1872-1924). A permanent Amazon rainforest exhibition gives visitors an idea of what the researcher was concerned with on his four journeys to South America between 1898 and 1924. For this section, Museum im Spital received permanent loans from the Ethnological Museum in Berlin, where large parts of the Koch-Grünberg collection are located.
