Information
The old castle contains a picture gallery filled with works of local artists, sculptures, chinaware and faience. The museum's first floor is allotted to changing cabinet exhibitions, the second floor to large special exhibitions. The history of the old castle goes back to the 14th century, today’s building is a reconstruction after the orginal's destruction during the Second World War. The Leib'sche Haus and the Wallenfels'sche Haus will be closed until 2027 due to the upcoming renovation and refurbishment works and the installation of the new permanent exhibition.
