Information
The Ober-Ramstadt Museum is located in the old town hall. The museum's inventory includes many finds from Pre- and Protohistory as well as Roman times and a large folklore collection. The small corner shop offers a glimpse into the everyday world of the early 20th century. Objects on the history of technology and industry are shown in the museum. An exhibition about comb-making offers a comprehensive picture of the trade that has been based in Ober-Ramstadt since 1831. The Lichtenberg collection is a tribute to the natural scientist and philosopher Georg Christoph Lichtenberg, who was born in Ober-Ramstadt in 1742. The museum is currently being renovated.
