Museum Echzell is located in a former tithe barn dating back to the Baroque. The building is located in the immediate vicinity of the Roman fort baths and the Echzell Latin School. The museum focusses on ground findings from prehistory, the Roman imperial period and early history. The exhibits come from settlements and graves. The Limes Information Center for the eastern Wetterau district offers insights into the life of soldiers and civilian inhabitants along the Upper Germanic Limes line. The first mention of "echecil" was in 782 in a document of Charlemagne. Documents and utensils are a highlight in the Echzell pharmacy, privileged since 1770. Equipment for grain harvesting and flax processing as well as a saddlery offer insights into the traditional trade. In the 17th century a well-known Latin school had its seat in Echzell. Remains of a Jupiter column were found near Echzell in a Roman estate, donated by a former soldier in the Echzell fort.
