Information

The history of the castle dates back to the 14th century when it was used as a toll castle. In the 17th century, the castle fell into ruin until Prince Friedrich Wilhelm Ludwig of Prussia acquired it in 1823 and had it rebuilt in the spirit of Rhine Romanticism. By succession, the castle remained until 1975 in the possession of the Hohenzollern family. The carefully restored castle can be explored independently.
