Magma Maria has been self-managed by a group of active and former sculpture students since 2020. Since the beginning, the coordination and use of the space has moved along a spectrum between collective artistic and curatorial practice. The diversity of the artistic and organizational approaches of the collective thus fits organically into the use of the space. Therefore, Magma Maria sees itself as a space for the encounter of media, as well as individuals. Since 2020, numerous artists and curators from Germany and occasionally from all over Europe have been able to use and occupy the Offenbach harbor. This space for extended artistic dialogue is to be maintained in 2022.

A prerequisite for organizing a group exhibition of external applicants is that the exhibition concept fits into this dialogue. We therefore encourage all applicants to network with artists from other institutions or to elaborate the concept in terms of interdisciplinary work processes.
