The Landesmuseum Mainz is the cultural history museum in Rhineland-Palatinate and is located right in the center of Mainz. The extensive art and cultural history collections range from the beginnings of civilisation to modern art. They are an impressive and unique reflection of thousands of years of diverse cultural and social history.
The collection areas are: Prehistory, Roman times, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, Baroque, 16th-20th century graphic art, Dutch painting, 18th century porcelain, 19th century painting, Judaica, urban history, Art Nouveau glass and modern art.
Numerous special exhibitions on the art, culture and history of the present and the past enrich the museum's wide-ranging program.
