Kurpark Königstein
open daily
In the heart of the spa town of Königstein, history and nature merge to create a unique setting. The present-day spa park, gently nestled on the southern slopes of the Taunus Mountains, was originally the private retreat of the Frankfurt banker Matthias Franz Borgnis. In 1860, he commissioned the construction of the present-day Villa Borgnis in the Swiss style and designed the garden by the renowned landscape architect Franz Heinrich Siesmayer.
Even today, the atmosphere of the 19th century can be felt while strolling beneath nearly 200-year-old sequoias and chestnut trees. Whether wandering along the winding paths once laid out by Siesmayer or relaxing on the expansive lawns, the park offers pure relaxation. With its registry office and the café-restaurant in Villa Borgnis, the park forms the social hub of the town and offers arguably the most beautiful view of the majestic Königstein Castle from the west terrace.
