Kunstforum Mainturm Flörsheim am Main
65439 Flörsheim am Main
The Main Tower, built in the middle of the 16th century, is considered the oldest preserved structure in the town of Flörsheim am Main. This early modern fortification served to protect the banks of the Main and control shipping traffic even before the Thirty Years' War. It was built in succession to a considerably earlier fortified town complex whose origins date back to the first third of the 14th century. The Mainturm Art Forum opened in November 2001. In just under a year of construction, a building complex was created that structurally connects the historic "Mainturm" building with the neighboring building, the former "Wärmestübchen". The Kunstforum Mainturm is a place of ideal exchange and dialogue. On a total of four floors, the house offers space for cultural events and the encounter of artists with art lovers.
