Information
The 19th-century birthplace of the internationally renowned artist Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (1880-1938) in Aschaffenburg has been transformed into a special exhibition venue following its refurbishment in 2012/13 in line with its listed status. Since 2014, exhibitions on the life and work of the artist, the Brücke artists' group and other Expressionist artists have been held in the Kirchnerhaus Museum (ground floor of the building). In addition to the museum, the Kirchnerhaus Aschaffenburg e.V. runs an extensive library with over 1700 titles on Expressionist art and artists in the former flat of the Kirchner family (1st floor of the building).
