Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm was founded in the 1980s by artists from the independent performing arts sector in the region and is now one of Germany’s most influential international production houses for dance and performance. Its work on programming and audience development is built upon joint- and networking with and between performing arts practitioners in the Rhine-Main area, other German-speaking regions and around the globe.
The artistic practices associated with the Mousonturm bring together the broadest possible range of knowledge and experience – from personal biographies and lived experience, critical discourses relating to art and society and influences such as pop, sub- and socio-culture. They assume many forms within an arena spanning different genres and media and explore the finely woven interactions between the body and politics.
