HEUSON MUSEUM - EXPERIENCE HISTORY FROM THE STONE AGE TO THE 20TH CENTURY
The oldest regional museum in Hesse shows the history of Büdingen and its surroundings on the ground floor - from the Stone Age to the 20th century. Topics include the prehistory and early history of the region, the Franconian women's grave with its valuable grave goods from the 7th century, ‘Town and Castle’, grave finds and the history of Büdingen's churches, ‘Everyday Life and Work’ and ‘Food and Water Supply in the Middle Ages’.
The first floor houses the permanent exhibition ‘The history and persecution of Büdingen's Jews’, while the second floor features display cases with objects and information boards on the topics of Waechtersbach ceramics, blacksmiths, shoemakers, agriculture, clockmakers, carpenters and wood turners, weavers and dyers as well as childhood.
