The Hessische Staatstheater Wiesbaden has long been one of the most visited theatres in Germany; in some seasons, the theatre was the only one in a city under 300,000 inhabitants with more than 300,000 visitors. Uwe Eric Laufenberg is building on this tradition and using all the scope that a modern multi-genre theatre offers: More than 50 productions can be seen on the four stages of the Staatstheater each season. In addition, there are guest performances and special events such as staged readings or discussion rounds with prominent guests.
