In 1981, the last empty "Backes" was renovated and a local history museum was established on the first floor of the building, which was built in 1746. Here, the historical development of the village of Steinfischbach is vividly presented for young and old. The exhibits bear witness to the agricultural and craft life. Regular special exhibitions – like the one in 1998 about "Schinderhannes in the Taunus" – provide variety. For the "Baking Festival" in June, bread is baked in the renovated oven as in the old days and offered for sale.
