The new museum is located in the basement of the Backhaus, a city-owned building in Kirchgasse 1. A permanent exhibition follows the aim of giving an insight into the history of Steinbach, making Steinbach's history visible, creating a link between the past and the present, and giving historical witnesses a voice, as every stone tells a story. The exhibition presents a representative cross-section of specific characteristics from the developmental history of Steinbach, which is intended to awaken interest in places of remembrance with selected exhibits and to lead to an understanding of local identity.
