Heimatmuseum Nied
65934 Frankfurt
We show the history of our district from the beginnings of the Roman brickyard (83 AD) to the present day. The shown findings from the Roman times were mostly excavated during construction works and given to the museum by the finders. The appearance of the former farming and fishing village and the development to today's modern townscape is shown by the many scale models of houses and buildings in Nied. Particularly worth seeing is the juxtaposition of the street "Alt Nied" from 1895 and 1985 as well as the former railroad repair works Nied including the building ensemble of the Neumarkt and the new buildings opposite. In addition to this permanent exhibition, we also show special exhibitions in our museum from case to case, primarily about Nied and/or its associations.
