The museum of the association "Heimat-Museum Maintal e. V." is located in the old rectory of the Maintal district Hochstadt. Take a tour of the museum and embark on a journey through time to the history of the town of Maintal with its four districts Dörnigheim, Bischofsheim, Hochstadt and Wachenbuchen. First mentions of the districts are in 793 ("turincheim" / Dörnigheim), 882 ("biscofesheim" / Bischofsheim), 846 ("hohunsteter marca" / Hochstadt) and 798 ("bucha marca" / Wachenbuchen). Our exhibitions display old handicrafts, village life, dolls, dollhouses and doll dishes of the 19th to 20th century. The first floor showcases temporary exhibitions, while the upper floor houses a handicraft room, viticulture and fruit growing, a kitchen, a cider room, a laundry room, a bedroom and an archive. The unique doll showcase displays dolls from different eras, from Schildkröt to Käthe Kruse as well as doll accessories.
