Information
The museum of local history is located in the so-called Textorhaus, a three-storey half-timbered building built by Jacob Textor in 1632. The coats of arms of the builder and his wife Maria Krollin are still preserved, as are the rich carvings of plant ornaments on the house. The museum's exhibition is mainly concerned with the 20th century. In the historic cellar vault, technical equipment is on display, such as a commercially used coffee roaster, a lead typesetting machine or one of the first teleprinters. Numerous archaeological finds attest to the pre- and protohistoric settlement of the region and the Roman period.
