Information

Our museum, housed in a charming half-timbered house from 1737, invites you on a fascinating journey through the history of the Hessian Ried.

The historical ambience of the house at Römerstraße 21 offers you an authentic insight into life and work in bygone times.

Immerse yourself in the world of crafts and agriculture. Find out how people used to live and work here. And which work and everyday objects once characterized daily life.

From the cozy living room with the large oven to the traditional kitchen - our museum shows how living culture has changed over the centuries. Discover the lovingly furnished rooms and be inspired by the past.

We are particularly proud of our fully equipped forge. She talks about the art of iron crafts and a time when there were no hardware stores. On the first Sunday of the month and at our events you can watch the blacksmith use the anvil during demonstrations.

In the last fully preserved bakery in the city, people used to come together to bake fresh bread. Long before Facebook and Co., this was also the weekly hub for exchanging the latest news.

Are you curious? We look forward to welcoming you to the Lampertheim Local History Museum!
