Information

The historical development of handicrafts is a main focus of the permanent exhibition of the local history museum. An extensive collection of tools and products provides insights into the work of wainwrights, blacksmiths, broom makers and basket weavers. It is complemented by a saddler's and a shoemaker's workshop.  Visitors also learn how and with which materials (ivory, horn, amber and wood) the turners used to work. Numerous exhibits document the former midwifery, beekeeping (old beehives and slingshots) and the trade of cigar makers. In addition, household utensils, a collection of mousetraps, and a church clock mechanism are on display. A model illustrates the workings of the former Bad König oil mill.
