The study of minerals, rocks and fossils from the Taunus, Wetterau and nearby areas is the central focus of the Geological Working Group of the “Volkshochschule” (community college) in Bad Homburg. Since the group’s founding in 1982, its members not only organize tours, lectures and excursions, but they have also put together a collection of exhibits at the Volkshochschule that they enjoy sharing with interested visitors. Enquiry into the history of mining in the Taunus completes the spectrum of activities.
