Günthersburgpark
Günthersburgpark
open daily
When the fountains of the "Lady with a Swimming Ring" and her four stone companions spray in the summer, Günthersburg Park transforms into a squealing water paradise for children. Originally conceived as a sprawling playground, it now offers much more than just classic recreation: While families picnic on the large lawns, sports enthusiasts can find space on the soccer, streetball, and boules courts. At the northern end, an adventure playground with a climbing castle and fire pit also beckons.
The historical legacy of the von Rothschild family is still palpable today: In the 19th century, Sebastian Rinz and Heinrich Siesmayer created an English landscape park here, featuring rare exotic trees such as giant sequoias and paulownia trees. The former orangery, now the headquarters of the Frankfurt Child Protection Association, is the last remnant of the once magnificent villa. Right next to it, the accessible park café (open daily from 11 a.m.) invites visitors to linger. Current plans envision expanding the park in the coming years with additional green spaces in the north, creating even more room for nature and recreation.
