The Fratopia Festival of Discoveries will take place from 16 to 20 September 2025 at the Alte Oper Frankfurt. For five days, the doors will be open for over 200 free concerts and events in various halls and foyers. The programme offers a colourful mix of classical music, jazz, world music, pop and experimental formats. Without registration, visitors can spontaneously immerse themselves, discover new sound experiences and enjoy music in an unusual atmosphere. Fratopia creates space for artistic freedom and innovative concert formats, and also appeals to people who otherwise rarely attend classical concerts. The festival is an open field of experimentation that makes music a new experience and transforms the Alte Oper into a lively meeting place for all generations. We invite you to celebrate Fratopia with us! Enter our experimental field and open yourself up to new listening experiences, unconventional formats and artistic freedom. For five days, our venue will be open for you from the afternoon until late in the evening. In a total of almost 250 individual events, we will explore the possibilities of presenting music in the concert hall in a new way – in a modern, lively manner, with artistic ambition, but also with an eye to those who are not otherwise part of the regular classical music audience. Fratopia is our gift to the city and the region: all concerts are free of charge. There are no tickets and no advance registration is necessary. As long as the halls have capacity, everyone is welcome!
