Information

Offenbach's oldest public park has an unusual origin: it grew out of the 2nd Hessian State Trade Exhibition of 1879. While the exhibition buildings have long since disappeared, the park landscape designed by landscape architect Andreas Weber has been preserved as a place of recreation.

An architectural gem still commemorates the industrial show of that time: an ensemble consisting of an arched bridge and a pavilion. What appears today as pure park charm was a technological sensation in 1879. The buildings of the Offenbach cement factory Feege & Gotthardt demonstrated for the first time the enormous load-bearing capacity of the then-novel rammed concrete. As probably the oldest surviving structures of their kind in the world, they are now important stops on the Rhine-Main Industrial Heritage Trail.

Covering four hectares, the landscape park, with its mature trees, large pond with fountain, and atmospheric music pavilion, offers space for relaxation and culture. As part of Offenbach's ring of green spaces, the park also connects the picturesque Westend district with its stately villas and gardens to extensive walking paths throughout the city.
