Information
The most important exhibit of the museum in Schöllkrippen is probably the building itself. In 1473, the half-timbered storehouse was built to collect and store the tithe, the tax paid in natural produce to the Mainz bailiff. The museum has a room in which annually changing exhibitions on regional history are shown. The museum is run by the Heimat- und Geschichtsverein Oberer Kahlgrund, which regularly involves the local population in the development of the exhibition and asks them for loans. Again and again, interesting exhibits come to light, which can thus be presented to a broad public.
